STARTING LEVEL: routes for people who want to start and / or baptize with snowshoes. Distances around 5 km, unevenness not exceeding 300 meters. Approximately 4 hours of activity.

You can choose between the following easy level routes located on the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park:

  • Navacerrada Port: (Sierra de Guadarrama National Park)
    • Telegraph stop and Schmidt path: route that runs through the vicinity of the Puerto de Navacerrada, through which we will go up to the Alto de Telégrafo to have beautiful views and descend to the famous Schmidt path where we will enter the lush forest.
  • Port of Cotos: (Sierra de Guadarrama National Park)
    • Laguna Grande de Peñalara: route that will bring us closer to the foot of the highest peak in Madrid, the peak of Peñalara, 2428 meters. We will cross a majestic forest to gain altitude and reach some areas of alpine meadows to find the Laguna Grande de Peñalara, from where we will have incredible views of snow corridors, the frozen lagoon.
    • Valle Cabezas de Hierro and Refugio Pingarrón: We will leave the Puerto de Cotos and cross a beautiful forest that will take us to the Pingarrón refuge.. Once there we will descend, to enter the lonely valley, under Iron Heads.
  • Puerto de la Morcuera: (Sierra de Guadarrama National Park)
    • Pico La Najarra: another lesser-known port in the Sierra de Madrid, from where we have a nice access to the peak of the Najarra, that belongs to the famous long rope route and from which we will have spectacular views of the towns of the Sierra.
