Low level: routes of 4 a 5 hours, some 8 km away or positive slope less than 400 meters, no technical steps.

Choose among the following hiking routes in Guadarrama National Park, in Madrid:

PEDRIZA (Guadarrama National Park)
  • Charca Verde – Refugio Giner de los Ríos: circular route which passes parallel to the Manzanares river, very close to his birth, where we will know some of the most beautiful pools of this river and the National Park, We will go up through a beautiful pine forest to Collado Cabrón to change the valley and reach the Giner de los Ríos Refuge. The descent will be along the highway path to the parking lot.
  • Puente Poyos – Refugio Giner de los Ríos: Beautiful route that runs through a beautiful forest and close to the river. The Giner de los Ríos Refuge will leave us at the first stop. (there is bar service and meals), from here we will go back into the forest with a small climb to reach the incredible granite arch called Puente Poyos. From here we will continue to Collado Cabrón where we will only have the descent to the parking lot.
  • Route to the base of the Yelmo from Cantocochino, El Tranco or the Maeso path: route that takes us to the pedriza icon, the great granite mass called Yelmo. We can leave from various points of the Park, at the beginning we have a climb that is divided into sections, that leave us in beautiful meadows with spectacular views, until you reach the great wall. The descent can be done by the same path or a small circular, to get to the starting point.
PORT OF NAVACERRADA AND PORT OF COTOS
(Guadarrama National Park)
  • Laguna Grande de Peñalara: Easy but beautiful route, At the foot of the highest peak of the Community of Madrid, Peñalara 2428 metro. We will leave the Port of Cotos, We will go up the lagoon path to the gypsy viewpoint, From here we will follow the path to the Great Peñalara lagoon, where we will find beautiful views of the National Park and in a clearly marked glacial valley. We will do it on the same path.
  • Ruta circular por Laguna Grande Peñalara – Refugio Zabala: Route at the foot of the highest peak of the Community of Madrid, Peñalara 2428 meters. We will leave the Port of Cotos, We will go up the path of the lagoon to our first detour that we will take and in a short climb will leave us in the little refuge of Zabala (high mountain refuge in case you get bad weather), From here we will descend to the Great Peñalara lagoon, where we will find beautiful views of the National Park and in a clearly marked glacial valley. There is only the descent to the starting point.
